Based on my impressions of the cities that I have visited, my 5 most liveable cities are Berlin, Zurich, Kyoto, Singapore, and Taipei. My first impression comes from the peace and order situation. There could be organized chaos (with lots of people) but there is the feeling that I am safe. Second criteria is walkability and cleanliness snice like to explore and I usually take a walk around my neighborhood. Third criteria is quality public transportation and other infrastructure, which makes it easy to travel within the city and outside. Fourth criteria would be availability of green spaces for relaxation and recreation, such as forests or parks where people can relax with friends or in solitude. The fifth would be availability of quality and affordable social services (including health services). My current city is low on walkability, since people mostly take motorbikes or taxis. Areas where there are sidewalks are very limited. Thus, the city needs to review its urban development plans, to include wide sidewalks that will encourage people to walk. This would reduce the use of motorbikes and taxis, reducing air and noise pollution, thus improving sustainability.
