1. As depicted in the Sanskey Diagram, In Switzerland the main fossil fuels used are oil, gas and marginally coal 2. Oil is mostly used for transportation (93%) followed by ”other”, industry and non-energy use. Gas is distributed in the following order “other”, industry and transportation and coal is used solely at a small % in industry. 3. In order to minimize fossil fuel dependency and to promote clean renewable sources I would firstly create financial incentives both for citizens and for companies. In the domestic sink I would encourage the use of solar energy through subsidies on decentralized photo-voltaic panels for household production of electricity and warm water, and would also promote the connection to regional bio-waste plants for heating and cooling. I would promote the use of lakes and rivers as stable heat sources and would also encourage electric public and individual transportation, while supporting researches that develop affordable renewable solutions. In the industry sink I would increase the use of hydro-power and wind energy and would consolidate the importance of bio fuel and waste in the sector. I would also promote smart energy use by coupling industries that have complementary needs in heating and cooling.
