On a recent trip to Buenos Aires I came across this building site. The proof that our building materials and methods are global is that Architects Like Zaha Hadid can operate outside of their own country. Behind me an apartment building constructed of reinforced concrete is underway. On walking around the city much is constructed this way. But a local intervention is the introduction of clay bricks as the infill between the reinforced concrete frame. This infill is a local construction method and in used in much of the low and high rise developments.
