The noise derived from urban transportation negatively affects the people’s daily life in Guayaquil, a city where due to its economic dynamism the automobile trips considerably increase every year, invading the peacefulness of city centers and subcenters, decreasing the security of pedestrians, and so on. The city lacks update relevant information about the noise levels in terms of quantitative and qualitative metrics at neighborhood scales so that the Municipality could design strategies to reduce the noise levels. The idea is to design a City App allowing citizens to transmit permanently quantitative and qualitative data (decibels, comfort, sensation and other metric) in real time to the headquarter, so that the Municipality can elaborate a diagnosis with the real time urban pollution data and consequently design strategies to reduce the pollution levels and increase the attractiveness of the city. The same idea can also be applied to determine other issues such as: the air pollution, bad odors for the sewage system, garbage collection and fish packing companies, obstructions for disabled people and children, electric energy utilities services among others.
