Considering that I would have to set up a Citizen Science Project, these are the guidelines I would set up before-hand: - Sufficient number of motivated citizens. - The use of Press, Social Media and ads to influence the attentiveness of citizen scientists in order to attract new people every day. - Clearly describe the impact they plan to have at the end of the project while following up with the progress of contributors affecting this impact through polls and statistics. - Citizen science projects should be presented in a way for the community to learn more about science through their participation and involvement. - Presentation skills and devoted team power to develop instructive content to influence and benefit the crowd. - Offer open access publication, open data standards, open source software and spread full school of research means. - Codes of behavior to guarantee respectful communication between all contributors and a long term data conservancy strategy that enables exposed access to outcomes and statistics, ideally sustainable.
