I'm a Canadian national residing and working in Doha, Qatar. On a daily basis, i travel 6.8 km from my home to my workplace and back. I have 2 options of transportation that I can use: The famous Uber, which is quick and would save me from walking under the desert sun. The new metro rail, introduced this year in Qatar. The first metro station is 200 m away from my home and takes me to another station 350 m away from the office. So it's a fair distance and acceptable, and CHEAP! (1 USD) So basically i prefer walking and taking the metro, because I enjoy the travel and boost my mood. Sometimes I rather take an Uber if the weather is intense and prohibits me from traveling on foot.
