The Tokyo Tower represents a historical construction background during the 1950s in Japan. As well as being a observation tower, it acts as a communication tower for the Metro and Greater Metro area of Tokyo. The construction is from steel and this resembles the Japanese economy boom in the 1950s of modernised material use in Japan. Traditionally Japan's majority of building materials were associated with wood or natural type, post WW2 this shifted to the modern steel, concrete and other modern urban materials.
