Due to the increased development and housing prices in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, there was overspill in development and rising home prices that had affected the Niagara Region. Investors and developers had saw the opportunity in Niagara. I then had the opportunity to work for a new planning firm that emerged due to all of this demand, getting hands on experience very early in my career. Politically, we have also seen international demand in the land development industry. Due to the tensions in the United States and the unpredictability, we have had international clients that are seeing Canada a better option to invest when compared to the neighbouring United States. The environment in Niagara also is balanced. There is urban life with calm rural settings with a lot of greenery. The air is fresh when compared to a higher density City. 3. I think that the Niagara Region, personally for myself fulfills my livability criteria to be an 80/100. The public transportation is not the best and many Niagara residents are reliant on the automobile. The bus is inconvenient and not frequent and walking is not always the best option.
