Agriculture, water and settlers The state of Michoacán is famous in Mexico for the amount of agriculture it generates and famous in the world especially for avocados. 51 of the 113 municipalities of the state have avocado production in a total extension of 140,000 ha. The land in the area is so fertile because of the number of water sources it has. The avocado and the water arrive from the municipalities to the city of Morelia, where they are organized for the distribution within the country. The water is stored in dams across the road. Unfortunately, the richness of the land has not prevented the great migration of the state either by violence or by seeking better opportunities. Morelia as the state capital is a great place to show the stocks and flows, take advantage of connectivity to improve the distribution that would cost more expensive of a small municipality that doing the union of volume. The inflows and outflows are constant because Morelia is neither a producer nor has its own water sources.
