Based on the International Energy Agency(IEA) reports of the Sankey Diagrams till the year 2013,following conclusions can be derived- ⦁ The dominant Fossil fuel contributors for Energy demand are the Coal ,Oil and Oil Products and lastly Bio/waste productions. ⦁ Firstly, out of the Production and imports of 35,606 Peta Joules of Energy,13695 Peta Joules of energy needs to be imported from other countries. This leads to a conclusion that nearly 38% of the total production of energy comes from other countries, which is great matter of concern. ⦁ Secondly, the total energy gradient between the energy production and energy consumption is 13,484 petajoules which is fairly balanced entropy. ⦁ However, if the total consumption s for the Industry ,Transport and Others are combined ,majority of the energy production comes primarily from Oil,Oil products ,Coal and secondarily from Electricity and Bio-fuel/waste.The advantage for India is that the energy consumption which is maximum for Others ,which is about 9967 petajoules out of 22122 PetaJoules, comes from Bio-fuel and waste which is produced in India itself ,which is CO2 free emission. ⦁ The drawback however is that the secondary major consumption is by Industries which comes from Oil products and Coal.We can derive ,that majority of Coal,Oil and Oil products needs to be imported which is around 60 to 70% import which is alarming for us. ⦁ Fourthly ,the energy losses from the Power stations which is about 7507 petaJoules of Energy is a totally neglected ,which instead can be reused to free the pressure on Oil imports and Coal imports. ⦁ Finally,a shocking revelation can be drawn that the Hydro and Nuclear energy productions in India are merely 3% out of total energy production and import. For the improving the environmental quality and assuring the sustainable production and consumption of energy of your country.,following policy is proposed for Co2 free country- i. As Coal and Oil are the extinct natural resources on the planet ,it is very important for India to stop these imports and increase the alternative source of energy productions like solar energy, photovoltaics and Nuclear energy. ii. The shocking wastage of coal energy production in power-plants can be used down re-linking or devising new methodologies to store the waste energy in the batteries or any other electricity storage means. iii. Though the initial setup cost for the Nuclear energy ,wind mills are too high, the production of energy by solar can be benefical at local level.Major energy production of energy can be tapped from sun during Summer times and can be stored to reuse back in Winter times. iv. Total seven to eight Nuclear power plants till the year 2010 are found in UttarPradesh ,Rajasthan ,Gujarat ,Maharashtra,Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. However, with seven more coming plants in India ,it must be assured that the energy production is increased to 50% at least till 2020.( Source-http://www.inwea.org/imgs/wpd.jpg) v. Also,as India has large thermal springs. However,It has not yet been tapped for the Geo-thermal energy productions, which also can contribute to the energy demand. The location of the thermal springs is evident from the above image(Source-http://www.geosyndicate.com/). vi. Moreover,India is blessed with many rivers like Brahmaputra, Kaveri, Ganga,Meghna, Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna ,Narmada and Tapi and its many tributaries.Hence, the number of hydroelectricity dams can be tapped for energy storage and productions. The number of hydro dams can be increased as shown in the image(Source-Maps of India.com) vii. At local level like Household, commercial offices and residential complexes , the consumption of Others in Sankeys Diagram which is about 9,967 petajoules can be eased by making mandiatory urban design policies like solar heaters, solar panels for street lighting , offices internal cooling and data storage cooling ,Photovoltaic panels for Malls, restaurants,IT complexes which contribute to largest energy consumption. viii. Majority of India's ever increasing economy produces garbage waste and litter, which i found a major neglected part for energy production.Local biogas plants setup like Nisarguna project by BHABHA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTRE can be a major win-win case for energy production ,as the initial setup cost and running cost of the plant is low. ix. The open spaces for the residential complexes can be further be alleviated for setup of biogas plants at local levels and the terraces could be used for solar panels. x. Architecture planning must incorporate shading south and south east facades with solar panels on commercial glass buildings which will reduce electricity load. Plannning the shorter sides of the building on the north south axis will reduce the urban local climate.
