1. The dominant fossil fuels used in India are coal and Natural Gas 2. They are majorly used in Industries and other non-energy uses 3. Preparing a policy that will reduce the use of fossil fuels and shift to renewable sources of energy is the urgent need. This can be ensured by making changes in activities that are largest consumers of fossil fuels and also the daily activities that consume a little by little. Since industries are the largest consumers, i am suggesting changes for this sector majorly. - Restricting the set up of industries that over consume the fossil fuel - Provide incentives for industries that use alternative fuels in their functioning - Promote use of public transport and shared facilities to reduce fuel consumption in transportation - Create awareness among people to instill willingness to improve their daily energy consumption habits The image that i have uploaded is of a bicycle track in Bhopal. It is not about provision of infrastructure that shall lead to shift in mobility patterns, but it is about the awareness among people. They must know the benefits of alternatives and then be able to make a choice.
