In Kazan, Russia, the most important stock and flows are information, food and heat supply. Photo is not mine Heat comes to buildings in the form of heated water (flow). Water is heated on heat power plants or boiler centres of various sizes (stock) using electricity (flow) or burning natural gas (flow). Food (flow) is packed on factories (stock) or manually (if it's a local small producer). Then it is transported and either stored in large storage centers (stock) or brought directly to shops (stock). Companies rent space in storehouses and can distribute foods between their shops when needed. Customer buys food and consumes it. The output is split between sewage and landfill (also stock - there go food remains and package). By information I mean that spread through mobile and fiber networks (stock). Through smaller distribution stations the information reaches us. In return, we produce the new information flow that takes the same way back to the global network. For common needs the information is stored on our computers rather than bigger servers (stock). Changes: introduce closed cycles based on our own energy output - for heating add recycling plant in the end of food flow cycle
