The photograph was taken near Taraz (city), in Zambyl Region of Kazakhstan, during a road construction project. The picture is of a digger, from Japan (Hitachi), placing concrete made up of cement that was domestically imported from another part of Kazakhstan and labour, aggregate (stones), were local to Zambyl region. The Concrete Paving machine was imported from Germany, via ship, train and truck in 4 parts. Other materials on the road included steel imported from China, as were the dump trucks carting concrete from the batching plant.
