a. Provisioning service: The Derwent river is a large seafood source for the Hobart region. There is many fish and oyster farms in this river. Aside from farms there are wild fish in the river and as the sign indicates many of which are fished for recreational purpose. b. Regulating service: The Bruny Island and Franklin region as shown in this picture are well forested. The trees in these areas undoubtedly are sequestering and storing much of the carbon emissions of the wider Hobart region. In addition, all of Tasmania is known for its clean, fresh air and clean, fresh water. This is likely due to the fact that around 40% of Tasmania is national parks and reserves. c. Habitat or supporting service: The area seen in this photo is native bush. As I mentioned before a large portion of Tasmania is intact native bush resulting in a preserving of many of the species that have already died out in urban or agriculturally developed parts of Tasmania. d. Cultural service: There are other parks like this one in Hobart. These parks provide comfortable outdoor recreational spaces. They also are home to some of the city’s festivals.
