Answer: Provisioning Services in Guwahati city: I live in Guwahati, the only Metropolitan city of entire North Eastern part of India. The city is having various wetlands and hills. One of the significant ecological elements of the city is Deepor Beel Wetland. The wetland is a Ramsar wetland and internationally significant. The Wetland is providing services like drainage for the city, recreational benefits and significant for providing livelihood for almost 1500 people living nearby. The wetland provides food, agricultural products, raw material for housing of the people around. The fishing community depends on the wetland. Apart from this, river Brahmaputra that flows through the city is a major source of fishing for the dependent riverside people and also important for ecological diversity and a home for rare river dolphins.
