1 - The dominant fossil fuels used in the UK are oil and natural gas. Natural gas is the dominant fossil fuel as much of the oil is exported. 2 - The dominant fossil fuels are mainly used for transport and “other” uses, though a lot also goes to exports and power losses, as most of the power stations are powered by natural gas. 3 - The UK produces 49.3 Mtoe of oil, with a total oil usage of 98.6Mtoe causing them to import 50.4Mtoe in oil. The single two largest uses of oil are in transport (39.7Mtoe) and oil exports (36.2Mtoe). To accommodate for transport use and oil produce export, the UK diverts 62.4Mtoe in oil through refineries, importing an additional 35.6Mtoe of oil products to match their need for 96.5Mtoe in oil products. Based on these numbers, my main policy goal would be to stop oil imports and exports to the UK. This would allow for the entirety of their oil production to be used nationally, and reduce demand and supply for oil on the international market. By combining this with a push for 100% electrification of public
