Windmills are structures that are highly standardized. They are made from various materials, which are optimized not only for their strength but also for durability and weight. While Germany aims to increase its use of renewable energy, the demand for the depicted "standard type" of a windmill is high and rising. While many of the countries the lecture talked about will see a transformation to a rise in urbanization, the same is true for the increase in "access to energy". Those African and South East Asian countries will face similar challenges when it comes to finding new building materials to harness wind. Therefore, apart from using bamboo for construction of buildings, it should also be further explored if it is fit for the use of building (for example) windmills components.
