Hello! A part image above shows a shopping complex in the capital city of Rajasthan whose construction took 7 odd years to complete!. Out of which approximate one and half years it took to wrap the entire building with curtain glazing. A gigantic metal frame behind with double glass units was magnificient. AS IF, AN OASIS IN THIS DESERT! JAIPUR wasn't well equipped with high rise structures till then. Architects were still making stable low rise structures in mud, brick or stone. They might expose the masonry or plaster it but cladding a high rise structure with glass was a miracle in the city in the year 2010. Thanks to the international trade exchange and the availability of an efficient know-how! Curtain glazing was presaged by Frederick Baumann in the year 1884. More then 200 years of invention and Jaipur has just started with the same. Though it doesn't suit the tropical climate of India, structurally it proved to be a big success! K.
