The picture shows a nearby small industrial park in Eriskirch which is my hometown in southern Germany. So my first exmple is the flow of material, for example raw material such as steel, alloy and concrete and processed input products which are needed for industrial processes for end product manufacturing. The raw materials and input products create a material flow to the industrial zone. The end products from the industrial zone. My Second example is the flow of information (knowledge) which is needed for the local economy to compete with the world market on the one hand and for engineering sustainable and ecological products on the other hand. My third example is the flow of people (commuters) to the industrial zone in the morning and to the residential areas in the evening. Stocks in this context are: industrial plants and residential houses. These stocks and flows could change in the future for the benefit of your area by increasing the flow of information and reducing the flow of raw material to avoid traffic and air pollution. workers could also avoid traffic and pollution by using the possibilities of home office public transportation systems.
