Bisher from Amman, Jordan: Provisioning systems: - Being one of the poorest water countries in the world, Jordan is in need of harnessing the relatively little rainfall we receive annually. The King Talal Dam is the main water basin of Jordan which purifies the water and then flows to the Ghor region which is the main agricultural area for the country. The Ghor region provides vegetables for local use as well as exporting. Efforts are being made to educate the farmers to plant crops that use less water. ghor region Regulating services: The zarqa which has a large industrial area has a waste-water treatment plant that feeds to the king talal dam which feeds the ghor region as mentioned above Habitat services: There are several protected national parks in jordan to ensure a healthy ecosystem. Some of them are the Azraq Wetlands reserve, Dana Biosphere Reserve, Al Mujib Reserve Cultural services: Jordan is home to mount nebo and the river of jordan which brings thousands of tourists every year to visit the holy sites. Furthermore, Jordan is home to many ancient protected sites such as Petra, the Roman Amphitheatre, Jerash, and many more.
