Pieter Tilman from Delft, The Netherlands Question 1 - In New York, up to 20.0 degree Fahrenheit hotter than nearby rural areas. Question 2 - The mainly stone/pavement all brick buildings. These trap heat more than green areas or have water in their surroundings. (compare to picture from earlier) Question3 - Create watersquares and add vegetation to the streets. Question4 - I could not find any policies in my community. Although Delft in a dense urban area, the UHI effect is minimal because of the water and green integrated in the city.
