This is a suburban area of the city of Managua, where the lack of buildings and vast green areas allow for many different ecosystem services. In the picture you can see a street and a bridge to the right, that are surrounded by many trees and different plans, but that´s only the visible information. a. Provisioning services This area provides raw materials, as you can see, the forests surrounding this places are perfect as wood is a widely used construction material in many cities of the country, specially those surrounding the beaches. b. Regulating services This is a residential area with around 200 houses, the picture was taken in the entrance of the residential, which is about 1 kilometer from the houses, but the entire place is surrounded by trees like in the picture, this ecosystem provides a more cooler and calmer climate, which sometimes is 5 degrees cooler than the climate found in the city centre. c. Habitat or Supporting services This is also a habitat for species. The place is crowded by different types of birds, reptiles and insects. d. Cultural services It creates a great stage for mental and physical health improvement.
