This is my routine route to work. Depending on the weather and work considerations, I use a combination of walking, street cars and subway. Route 1 Mode of Transportation Time Distance Walk 4 minutes 250 meters Street car 15 minutes 2.9KM Subway 5 minutes 1.5KM Walk 2 minutes 150 meters Total Time /Distance 26 minutes 4.8km Route 1 is the most used route. It is dependent on street cars and subway. It is the ideal mode of transportation during the cold season when the daily temperature is below zero. While at times it is very crowded, the use of transit makes economic sense and is more environmentally responsible than automobile driving. Route 2 Mode of Transportation Time Distance Walk 55 minutes 4.3km Route 2 is the most ideal mode of transportation, but is dependent weather conditions. Walking to and from work (4.3km each way) is an ideal exercise with significant health benefits. While travel time is longer, it is the most economic mode of transportation and gives you an appreciation of the street life in downtown Toronto. Route 2 is shorter than Route 1 because it allows you to cut through a public park in the middle of the city.
