FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2019-03-03 by Franco
1)In the photograph I can identify many cars and a bike crossing an intersection while the traffic lights are green. Seems to be a busy avenue. At the background I can see some tall buildings that may house people and on the left a big building that may be a goverment's building. 2)It may be a highly densified residential neighborhood as I see those tall buildings full of balconies. Other invisible information I can extract are the means of transport mainly used on that avenue (cars). 3)The avenue is mainly used by cars but it is also used by bikes. Using bikes in this avenue with a lot of traffic can be dangerous so it may be advisable to ban the use of bikes or depending on how many bikes use it, to plan a bike lane. This decision will order the traffic and prevent many accidents that can be produced because of the different speeds of each vehicle. Understanding the means of transport mainly used can help to plan a more suitable type of infrastructure for the avenue making it safer and more livable. Also I suggest to develop a public transport system for this avenue.
