A project related to Citizen Design Science could be something I am mentioning in my Ph. D. dissertation „New horizons of urban planning - the Internet as a participatory space“. Blockchain technology is enabling us to create the participatory platforms with social media functions, and integrated crowdsourcing mechanisms such as crowd creation, crowdfunding and crowd voting. This system rewards user-generated content with convertible cryptocurrency where the amount rewarded depends on the stake-weight of the voter. This means we could make urban platforms where the stakeholders could equally become experts, official institutions and citizens. Ideas could be gathered globally and applied locally. For example, the city of Novi Sad could place the open call for urban pockets design on the platform and span the crowd storm from all over the world. After the crowd ideas are gathered, local crowd voting is performed, but also the new discussions. Participants are motivated to give meaningful and quality feedback because the potential reward system which depends exclusively on community voting. Decentralized approach becomes applied in decentralized ecosystem. Thanks to the integrated nature of the platform, every successful project becomes an example of good practice which could be distributed further.
