Uploaded on 2019-02-11 by Merrill fung
This is a photo taken in Vancouver, in the province British Columbia, which is eastern part of Canada. This is considered the waterfront of Vancouver, where you can find a mix of residential units, office towers, restaurants, running/walking trail, yacht docking stations and transportation to smaller islands such as Victoria. The running/walking trail is particularly popular during the entire day. The two invisible elements will be (1) the type of users that visit this area, whether you're an office worker, a residence or tourist; (2) occupancy rate of the residences or officet towers. I selected #1 to further elaborate and demonstrate the invisible data became visible. By tracking where the people are coming from and where they will go after visiting this area, we can determine if residence people uses this area more or office users. We can also determine the time of day they visited. Taken for example in the morning, there are usually a crowd running or walking as their morning exericse. With these information, we can further plan our environment where offices are located or residences to create a better environment for them.
