Provisioning services: Danube River flows through Novi Sad, and local citizens have developed the habits to eat the fish from it. Even one of the oldest city marketplaces still has the name Fish marketplace, even it doesn’t sell only the fish. There are also many gardens and food production in the rural parts of the city. Regulation Services: Even we lack the care for the ecosystem in the last few decades, city parks and open green spaces play an important role in shaping the local climate and air quality. Habitats for species: We are proud of our swans, and there are turtles and fish in some of the ponds within the city parks. This ecosystems also provide habitat to many bird species as well as hedgehogs. Cultural services: Our local beach Strand is placed along the Danube shore, while the recreational space and trim paths are available on the riverbank. This significantly contributes to the livability.
