I currently live in Stockholm, Sweden and as every winter I try to commute by bike every day. I live in municipality Nacka (but work in Stockholm center distance 6 km) and bike lanes there are perfectly cleaned very early after snowing, while in the city centre bike lanes are in very icy and dangerous conditions, making cyclists cyclist on the road while some drivers don’t seem to accept that (they drive way too close to scare cyclists etc.) because the bike lane maintenance differs so much in different parts it would be great to look up this info ahead and maybe decide to take a bus instead. An app with interactive map, showing state of bike lanes, possible images from users (mine image taken this morning in Nacka), comments and also the option to claim a complaint. City would also have to learn to react to these sudden needs. In my hometown Bratislava this year the snow cleaning went from private owners responsibility (as in neighbouring Austria) to the responsibility of the city (as in Czechia). An app like this could be beneficial in both scenarios.
