Three most important stocks and flows in my town (Novi Sad, Serbia) are water, food, and people. The main stock of water is river Danube. From the river, we are getting drinking water and it is also our important route for trade. The river plays a vital role in the social life of citizens (beach, recreation). Food comes from import and from the domestic production. Not all food is industrial – we still have a significant flow of food from local farms, which comes mostly from villages near Novi Sad and is sold on city marketplaces. There is a strong connection between these two groups so it is not rare to see how local producers sell their food in the city neighborhoods. And speaking of people – Novi Sad is university center so we have a constant flow of students from Serbia, Bosnia, and Montenegro. After the studies, some of them stay and impact the stock, while others leave the town and flow. We also have a flow during the Exit festival every summer where thousands of people come to the town. This flow impacts the capital too.
