FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2019-02-02 by Filippa Malmgren
The visible information in this photo is most obvious in the high-rise buildings surrounding a wide, flat open-expanse space. The invisible information which can be extracted from the photo's visible information is that the area is most likely highly trafficked - at least by pedestrians. We can assume (also from the visible information) that the area has a high density of people - at least judging by the high-rise buildings - and since there is a large open space in the center (resembling a square) we can suggest that the invisible information entails a lot of people regularly passage through there. Knowing this invisible information - that a lot of people pass through this high-density area - we can contribute further to the planning of this area by using it in future planning. We can plan more roads, parking spaces and bus stations to accommodate a large amount of people moving through here, and we can also create opportunities for businesses and restaurants close to this spot, since there is a large concentration of people here.
