Globalized construction This a reconstruction of an original building in Battambang, Cambodia. The building style with the main living area on stilts for cases of flooding and local wood as building material can rarely be found anymore in Battambang, Cambodia. The buildings in the city center are nowadays characterised by the colonial time with concrete houses or newer constructions where concrete is used. Also this reconstruction of an old building was complemented by concrete stairs. For example, the cement in concrete constructions is produced factories that are far away and need limestone and clay that can also come from another place.
