FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

This photo was taken in my neighborhood in the city of Coquimbo, Chile. Invisible information: 1) First, we can see an "animita" which refers to a memorial stone that is put in the place where someone has died. Items like this show us places that for various reasons are less safe for citizenship. 2) Second, we can see a bus stop where there are no people waiting for public locomotion. This is probably due to that the photograph was taken at noon on a Sunday, and informs us about the activities that people prefer to do different days of the week (mostly staying home on sundays). Explanation: The first point mentioned can be converted into knowledge and contribute to better planning of urban space; since in Chile it is very common to use the Animitas to mark the place of death of a loved one who died product of violence, assaults or traffic accidents. Considering the places where they meet, one could quantify them and distribute them on a map, which for example would indicate the least safe places, those with poor lighting, those that require greater police surveillance or, in the case of roads or highways, those who need a larger amount of walkways for pedestrians.
