Stocks and Flows in Melbourne I live on the edge of the CBD in Melbourne and the very obvious flows are people and cars. Each morning and evening there is a constant flow back and forward. The main stocks are buildings and roads/tram infrastructure. How are these changing? As traffic becomes more and more of an issue, the volume of cars is holding steady and the volume of people on public transport is increasing. The stock of buildings is increasing but the mix is also changing from commerical to residential. This also has an impact on the flow of people and cars. More people are now living in the city and so their flow is changing too.
