1_The country's energy balance is clearly importing, with 82.85% of imports on the total energy flow, with a production of 17.15% and exports of 19.28% of the total. The main energy supply is the import of oil, together with its derivatives, reaching a level of 54.21% of the total, the next in importance is the import of gas with 17.71%. 2_The main consumer is transportation, with 19.22%, leaving others (residential, commercial, public sector and primary sector) at 17.90% while industry results in 11.43%. 3_The improvement of the energy balance needs to be global, reducing the imports of fossil fuels destined mostly for transport, producing a large carbon footprint and atmospheric pollution. The scarcity of fossil resources in the country forces the development of alternative energies by reducing the current import balance.
