This is an image of a pier in Santa Monica, California. The visible infrastructures in the image are as followed: - energy (within the pier rides) For this “mini city” (The pier) to survive, energy must be created, stored, and used. This pier must find efficient ways to power their rides. This creates a physical software system. Data concerning the use of energy is used to further the pier. People wouldn’t pay to ride the rides if they wouldn’t move, therefore the sustainability of the “city” depends on if there is energy to be used. The sustainability aspect come with where the energy is coming from. The water from the ocean below the pier could possible be used to create energy for the rides. The advancement of the pier can only come with research and data collection. Energy is therefore considered crucial to the city and its development.
