As with my other responses, the drop-down menu will not let me pick Aarhus, so I have chosen Aalborg instead. But be aware that my examples revolves around Aarhus and not Aalborg. Aarhus, and Denmark in general, has done an amazing job with encouraging its population to use their bikes as their main form of transortation. So much so that 37% of all Danes bike to school and work everyday. We have an extensive system of bike lanes, but unfortunately not enough bike parking. This is a major issue in Aarhus, where you will see bikes parked everywhere, even against trash bins and benches (as seen in the photo). Aarhus has been great at incorporating bike lane infrastructure but has failed to consider bike parking, which has a profound impact on the urban landscape.
