As with my other posts, my city, Aarhus, does not show up on the drop-down menu, so I have marked the city as Aalborg even though it is in fact Aarhus. In this photo we see Aarhus Cathedral which is made of beautiful red brick. Denmark was previously a significant producer of bricks, but as you may be able to see in the photo some of the updated older buildings around the cathedral have been updated using materials such as brushed cement rather than brick. Even though brick was produced in Denmark, glabalization made it so other material would be less costly than the labor intensive brick. Thereby, changing the face of Aarhus, while reducing the number of brick production facilities.
