FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

This picture of the South Bank of the Thames river in London shows how invisible information is encoded and can be intuited in simple ways: (!) The lights in the windows of buildings give a pattern of habitation and density of people - or at the very least of the importance of the object in the hierarchy of public space. (2) the skyline itself - the height of buildings - is an important signifier of importance, density of occupation and ultimately popularity of a spot. Even more so in London where skylines are severly curtailed due to restrictive planning permission and protected vistas.
