It is difficult to find in Brazil a building whose construction materials are the product of globalization because we produce iron, steel, concrete, cement, sand, ceramics, bricks, bamboo, wood, glass, stones, among others. So I chose this photo taken in Ouro Preto, Brazil, by me. Ouro Preto is a historical city of the XVIII century. It arose due to the exploitation of the gold and the iron. At that time, there was no industry in Brazil, so the construction of the buildings was all done with local material, except for the glasses that were imported from Europe. These houses had a wooden structure filled with clay, extracted in the country itself. The tiles were made by the slaves themselves, and the wood of the doors, roof and windows were taken from the country's forests. The only product of globalization was glass, which was all imported from Europe. The first glass industry in the country is 1812. Before that, all glasses were imported.
