a. Provisioning services: In Bogotá the Bogotá River, although greatly polluted is moving to a cleaner state. This river provides fresh water and as such is vital in the regional hydrological cycle. This river is the main receiver of all the water that passes through the city. b. Regulating services: The wetlands or humedales in Bogota such as Humedal Jaboque or Humedal Tibabuyes are the main regulating ecosystems. They aid in mitigating floods, and also help with waste water treatment. c.Habitat or Supporting services: All along the east of Bogotá run the Cerros Orientales, or Eastern Mountains. The Cerros Orientales are the most natural environment in the city, providing habitat for many species and allowing genetic diversity. d.Cultural services: Lately, public policy in Bogota, has began integrating natural environments with cultural services. This is to create a symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. Most of the ecosystems mentioned above also provide cultural services, the Cerros Orientales or East Mountains park, the Humendales or wetland park, and the future Bogotá River Park. However, and example that embodies an ecosystem that provides cultural services would have to be the Simon Bolivar Park. This park is the largest park in the city.
