The ecosystem presented located in Medellin, and it is called Cerro Pan de Azucar, which meets the 4 criterias: a. In this ecosystem, people from the slums work and cultivate coffee in sustainable farms. This project was highlighted due to the high social impact. b. Cerro pan de azucar is one of Medellin’s “lungs” It has relatively dense vegetation and offers a scape from the already very polluted city. Medellin is surrounded by mountains, so the vegetation helps to prevent erosion and landslides. c. In Cerro pan de Azucar is very easy to find protected birds and bugs, which are key to maintain the fertility in the soil and overall ecosystem balance. d. This was probably my favorite hike. It was connected with cable cars and you can almost literally walk all around the border of the city, from the center to the north and south. It has a breath-taking landscape and offers a very good perspective of the slums developments, and how neighborhoods in the peripheries lack
