This picture shows a road frequently taken since it leads to urban part of Douala, the economic region of Cameroon. On this picture, we can clearly see dirt along the roadside which is unfortunately stagnant. Also, we can see that the road is very dusty and covered with grass along its edges. Considering the first point I stated earlier, the presence of dirt so close to the roadside indicates poor hygiene and road maintenance which is supposed to be one of the main priority of the sanitary and public services. Meanwhile, the truth is this problem can be solved easily by increasing the number dustcarts all around town (both in the urban and rural areas). Also, increasing the number of dustcarts and placing them around town means increasing the number of dustmen thereby promoting employment which is right now at a low rate. The community can try aware the government about all the sanitary problems they are actually facing right now and the consequences these dirty environments can cause to their health. Unfortunately, this is common everywhere here in Douala both in the rural and urban areas. As such, only the government will be able to change this uncomfortable situation.
