Unfortunately, I haven't been able to travel a lot - there are not many cities so far in South America I consider liveable and sustainable. But, If I am asked to rank the places I consider liveable I would rank them like this: Merida, México: Quiet, good transport, nice people, safe, close to tourist region CDMX, México: walkable, nice weather, good transport, culture, job opportunities Medellin, Colombia: transport, culture, walkable, nice weather Bogotá, Colombia: culture, bike routes, walkable, culture, job opportunities Querétaro, México: Quiet, affordable, nice people My hometown Barranquilla doesn’t meet a lot of my own criteria - for me liveability depends on transportation, safety, job opportunities, culture and weather. Barranquilla has incredible people and it feels like a really welcoming city. That said, in terms of culture is very industrial and there is not much going on. Transportation is expensive and loud - there is not much space for biking. It is not walkable and with the immigration crisis seems to have gotten very unsafe. It is also very hot - around 28C and in summer 40C. Nonetheless, job opportunities are good and citizens are very open-minded.
