Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area. - MUMBAI has min temp ranging from 15- 25 degree centigrade in winters and max 30- 40 degree centigrade in summers. The temperature in the city is 5 - 6 degree higher than the temperature in rural areas in both the seasons. As the population is increasing, the built-up area also is increasing which is further leading to the heating effect. 3. Which are the measures you would propose? - greening of the transportation corridors, promoting green architecture, rooftop gardens, reserving space for landscape in the city and build parks and gardens. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? There are little efforts been made in the city in regards to UHI by the government.
