Students from other regions and cities of Italy, Europe and not only are definitely the most important flow in Bologna. In fact, many apartments are empty, but they are used as AirBnbs also due to the raising tourist sector of the city. Students are a very important source of money and innovation for Bologna and for the entire region Emilia-Romagna, creating a unique cultural environment comparable with Cambridge in UK, Berkeley in California, and Uppsala in Sweden. The departments as the students dorms are spread all over the city and this is very important to make the students share their ideas with the citizens instead of the "Campus University" model which includes a more isolated context for students. A crucial point of the last year is the lack of place for accomodation of students, mainly because of AirBnb. More than a new flow, it is important to keep this flow alive for the city adopting better housing politics for the municipality and for the outskirt and the villages surrounding Bologna.
