1) Wien 2) Trento 3) Munich 4) Izmir 5) Bologna According to my personal experiences, these are the most livable city I've ever been in. Izmir is definitely a unicum in the Balkans and Turkish context. The transport works very well and people are definitely welcoming. The city is safe and it is the most secular city in Turkey and people are usually very open-minded. This mentality is also reflected in the results of the political elections. The most important features are: 1) Public services 2) Green areas and pollution 3) Mentality of people 4) Care of young people 5) Care of disabled people My city is in the 20 most liveable cities in Italy, but my hometown is one the most polluted cities of the country. Taranto, in Southern Italy, is surrounded by the biggest steel factory in Europe and a refinery which make the pollution level very high. Agriculture is not practicable anymore. A long-term strategy of clean conversion like what happened in Bilbao, in the Ruhr area and in Belval in Luxembourg could be necessary in order to change the economy of the area which depends from 75% from these industries.
