Urban area, where I currently live in Windhoek, capital of Namibia, depends on surrounding ecosystem zones for the key goods and services, for example, food and water, since most of the natural habitats in the city have disappeared or been degraded. So the following ecosystem services are for the ecosystem surrounding the city: Provisioning services: Cattle ranching for beef production as well as the production of skins, horns and trophies Regulating services: Hydrological cycle and water flow maintain groundwater recharge. Habitat or supporting services: Private farms, freehold conservancies and nature reserves provide key habitat for wildlife, including threatened and endangered species. Cultural services: Recreational tourism, particularly focusing on wildlife viewing. Scientific and education services relating to wildlife and their interactions with the ecosystem zone and human activity are taken by a number of institutions, private nature reserves and freehold conservancies.
