Windhoek is sparsely populated. The city have few big buildings especially in downtown, However in residential suburbs like the one I am living in (photo), it is mainly one floor houses surrounded by gardens. while searching for historical temperature to find if there is increase, yet within the data available and the records since 2007, the highest celius degree recorded in Windhoek was 37.6 c in Feb 2013, while the highest this year was 35.8 in Jan 2018. As for the minimum temp, the lowest recorded was -1.6c in July 2016, while the lowest this year was -0.7c in August 2018. It seems that there is no increase in temperature in Windhoek at least since 2007. I would assume there is no urban heat island as the city looks like a countryside. Moreover, there is no countryside around Windhoek as it is surrounded by dry lands not populated for hundreds of kilometers. The population in Namibia is 2.4 million living on 824 thousand square kilometer, hence the density is too low. I couldn't upload another picture for the outskirt of windhoek
