FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2018-09-06 by Anne-Frédéric Blais
This image was taken at the Mont-Royal subway station in Montreal. There are many invisible information in this image such as travel behaviors from the movement from or to the subway station and the numbers of pedestrians and cars using the main street of the neighborhood, Mont-Royal Street. By analyzing the first invisible information, we could determinate people's habits for the use of public transport. It could tell us when people are the most likely to use the subway during the day, for what purpose they use the subway (are they coming home, going to work or for other activities.) The invisible information could also situate the importance of the Mont-Royal subway station compared to the others in the transportation system. These are the kind of knowledge that could come out of this basic information.
