What ecosystem services do you have in and around your living area? Give at least one example for each of the four types of ecosystem services. 1. Provisioning Services: Pune city is closer to the western ghats that is lush green, provide fresh water since several rivers originate and has storage facility. The monsoons are pretty active for 4 to 5 months of the year providing water for consumption. The lush green forest also acts as flood control mechanism and avoids soil erosion. 2. Regulating Services: Road side planting of shade trees, maintaining large gardens in the city central and other places has vastly improved the cooling effect in the city and has improved quality of air. Pune is voted as most livable city for the year 2018. 3. Habitat or supporting Services: The local bird santuries and the river side including garden in the city is home to several local species and birds. 4. Cultural Services: Pune is a cultural capital of the State. It host several platform for spiritual, cultural and sports. Besides, it maintains several public spaces for relaxation.
